Alex Hunter and Danny Clancy loved eating fresh British seafood but found that most London restaurants that served it were a little "stuffy". Inspired by the simple, unassuming restaurants of British coastal towns they started their own pop-up in an old Hackney pie'n'mash shop to serve the best of British seafood in the most humble of surroundings. A year later they found themselves a permanent site in Fitzrovia and quickly established Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack as one of London's favourite little restaurants.
Bottega Gold is a Prosecco from Valdobbiadene, with specially selected grapes and yeasts and an unusual single fermentation from grape must to sparkling wine for maximum freshness. Back in the early 2000’s, we had a vision to create the most striking packaging we could for our most premium products, and with this in mind, Gold Prosecco was born. The eye-catching painted Bottega bottles provide the perfect solution for a celebratory occasion, popular with Italian restaurants and other modern food-led businesses, destination hotels and spas, and premium late night venues. They also make a striking and memorable gift.
The work of our winemakers is therefore the heartbeat of the company and is implemented in the direct management of:
- The distillery in Bibano di Godega, dedicated to the production of grappa
- The winery in Bibano di Godega, where Prosecco and other sparkling wines are produced
- The winery in Pescantina, Valpolicella , where Amarone, Recioto, Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico and Classico Superiore are produced.
- The winery in Montalcino, where we produce Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino
Thanks to the success of our first blend, great support from our customers and countless nights spent licking stamps & labelling bags, we're now a 15-strong company just off Notting Hill. We're constantly investing in our product to bring you more fantastic blends, and just won't be happy until all our packaging – from box to bag to pod – is fully biodegradable.
ETHICS MATTER – that's why we only ever buy organic; and that means no nasty chemicals, pesticides or aggressive farming practices. The best beans come from the best farms – and all our growers work hard to reinvest in the community and environment around them. It costs us more, but we think the taste, and the knowledge that the people and the land it was picked from have been cared for properly, is more than worth it.

I have over 20 years experience in the catering trade, including many years working in Spain. This, combined with a love of the Basque country and a want to serve extraordinary Basque food in a unique setting, has inspired this business.
Basque cuisine is a unique fusion of the best of Northern Spain and French cuisine, with Donostia (the Basque name for San Sebastian) recently being voted the top destination for British food-lovers.
Our signature London Dry gin is distilled using the finest 100% British wheat spirit infused with lemon & grapefruit peel, coriander, angelica root, juniper berries, cubeb berries, and cardamon. The botanicals are of the highest quality and are discerningly sourced from across the world. Our state of the art copper pot still was custom designed and hand built in Germany by Arnold Holstein. They have been using the same traditional metalworking techniques for generations.
The finest Demerara rum made using molasses produced from 100% Demerara sugar, grown on the banks of the Demerara river in Guyana. This contributes a fruity, rich sweetness to the rum. The spirit is micro-distilled in a two-column wooden Coffey still, the world's only surviving wooden column still. This unique process gives it a complex and woody flavour. It is then aged in ex-bourbon casks for at least 3 years, which adds spicy vanilla notes.
Our small batch grain vodka is produced using 100% British wheat spirit which is distilled in our state of the art copper pot still, custom designed and hand built by Arnold Holstein in Germany following the traditional metalworking techniques that the family has been using for generations. The spirit passes from the still though a six bubble-plate rectification column and a top mounted dephlegmator to ensure any impurities are removed to achieve an impeccably smooth and satisfying taste.
