M20/20 is going to compile the definitive guide of Europe's top 50 early-stage companies. From supply chain to product design and mobile to store experiences, our list provides an up-to-the-moment lens into the future of retail through the eyes of the most innovative startups.

The Retail Tech Top 50 list is judged by a curated panel of experts leading stores, brands, press outlets and agencies. It draws on M20/20’s insights into the future of retail and consumer-facing commerce.

The published list will be announced during M20/20 Europe.

Start-up or early stage companies (up to five years old) specialising in retail technology or with a retail relevant technology
Based anywhere in the EU (or non-EU companies that have an EU presence in terms of clients or case studies)
Using technology in an innovative way, which a unique idea or approach, and improving retail activity in one of our categories
Can show some evidence of commercial traction and viability


Technical innovations or novel digital approaches to improving in-store customer journeys and/or physical store operations.


Startups facilitating better payments and/or transactions in store or anywhere across the multichannel retail journey through digital innovation.


Startups creating faster, more efficient or simply better ways to get goods to consumers across all segments of the supply chain.


Leveraging technology to produce goods or services in ways that break with traditional processes and models.


Platforms or services in the e-commerce/m-commerce space, whether it's a direct to consumer initiative or a B2B service that's supporting the connected retail ecosystem.


Startups selected for inclusion on the Retail Tech Top 50 will be announced in an exclusive ceremony during FUTR. Winners will be invited to attend the announcement ceremony and M20/20 Closing Party on 14th March, and offered considerable discounts of attending and exhibiting at the Summit.

Successful applications will receive extensive promotion across the FUTR conference, and coverage in industry and trade publications.


Entering could not be easier. Simply complete the simple application form on this web page before Friday 2nd March to be considered. Please ensure you complete all fields or else your application may not be considered.

Our judging panel will be independently scoring entries, and you will be contacted at least two weeks before the Summit if you have been successful and will feature on the list.

Applications are now closed

  1. The Closing Date for entries is Friday 23rd February, unless extensions are approved by FUTR
  2. Entry submissions will only be seen by the M20/20 team, TLA and chosen judging panel – they will not be shared publicly, however some details may be shared in the final published list
  3. Entries will be judged by a panel of independent judges, and M20/20/TLA will be responsible for collating scores to determine winners in each category
  4. If your company makes it into the list, we recommend you use your complimentary ticket to attend M20/20 Europe (13-14th March, London) for the announcement and the Closing Party (on 14th March)
  5. Successful companies will be informed at least one week before the show, and promoted on our website and in a published list
  6. All entrants must be aged 18 or over

The FUTR is here. M20/20 expands into FUtureTRends; the year-round conversation on the future of consumer-facing commerce.

In 2015 we created our vision for a new type of event. Millennial 20/20 was disruptive, both in terms of format and content. We were quick to identify the rapidly-changing consumer landscape driven by the digitally-savvy, mobile-first, tech-native millennial generation. Our vision was to bring together brands and retailers with the latest solutions and innovations able to meet these needs and transform each part of the customer journey.

After our successful launch in London, demand from our community took us all over the world, hosting summits in Singapore, New York and Sydney in just 18 months.

Over this time, we witnessed multiple trends, technologies, innovations and business models that held the potential to disrupt the way brands and retailers operate. It became apparent that these changes were moving at a much faster pace than we ever imagined. While still driven by empowered consumers, we identified trends that were in the near-future that we wanted to bring to life through our events.

FUTR is our own evolution. FUTR is actively engaged in next-generation commerce. FUTR is the must-attend event to identify what’s next.
