J&J are now on the hunt for innovative, cutting-edge solutions and ideas for their brands in EMEA. Their new programme LaunchPad is focused on enabling immersive total brand experience for modern consumers that live in a connected world, powered by technology.

This means, uncovering the most disruptive startups, building the most exciting partnerships and most importantly, landing the biggest business impact through paid pilots.

As consumer expectations evolve at a faster pace than ever before, J&J is looking to uncover new marketing solutions and partners that will drive their future consumer experience strategy across EMEA. The programme has been developed to meet the growing needs and challenges of the business across retail, marketing and commerce.


About


J&J is looking for innovative marketing solutions for Neutrogena in EMEA. The objective is to create buzz and a movement around their disruptive take on ageing to help launch a new range of products with a bang!

So whether it’s an AI solution that allows delivery of personalized content at scale, a UCG mechanic, innovation like AR within retail aisles or co-creation with the region’s leading lifestyle partners – we want to hear from your company! The winning startup, will enter into the LaunchPad programme, which will see their solution activated across EMEA markets through a paid pilots.

J&J is looking for innovative solutions that can assist with one or more of the following objectives:

  • Acquiring new customers that may not have come across the product to-date
  • Creating buzz and a movement around the new product launch
  • Connecting with our customers in more innovative ways than we have done previously
  • Ability to use user generated content as marketing content to promote the product to customers
  • Ability to create personalisation which is embedded into the customer experience
  • Ability to create more personalised advertising content (video/photography/content) based on understanding the consumer better

Product Distribution


The launch of the product range will be across the EMEA region. They will be sold through major retailers (such as Tesco, Boots, Selfridges) and online marketplaces (such as Amazon). Submitted ideas should be relevant for online, or offline to online channels. In some cases, J&J may even consider propositions that empower a direct-to-consumer business model for the product.


Competition Information


  1. Once you’ve submitted your company information here, you will receive an email from us with the product-specific J&J briefs. You will then be able to upload your proposals for any or all of the briefs via the link provided in that email. Deadline for proposals is September 14th 2018.
  2. The entrant must be able to showcase their ability to assist J&J brands to meet one or more of these objectives:
    • Acquiring new customers that may not have come across the product to-date
    • Creating buzz and a movement around the new product launch
    • Connecting with our customers in more innovative ways than we have done previously
    • Ability to use user generated content as marketing content to promote the product to customers
    • Ability to create personalised if embedded into the experience of the customer
    • Ability to create more personalised advertising content (video/photography/content) based on understanding the consumer better
  3. Your company does not have to be based in EMEA but must be able to deliver your idea or solution in one or more of the countries outlined above. If you have case studies in any of those countries already, you will have the opportunity to share that within the application process.
  4. Your company can be either a B2B or B2C business.
  5. There will be 8-10 finalists of the competition and each will be asked some additional questions about their companies and submission in the next round. Five selected startups will then be invited to the LaunchPad Pitch Event in London in September to present their idea and meet the J&J brands and leadership teams.
  6. The winning startup will be awarded a paid pilot and if successful and the solution is scalable, will be offered the opportunity to work with multiple J&J brands in multiple countries. Work on implementation and activation will begin after the LaunchPad Pitch Event in September 2018 at the Johnson and Johnson HQ with all key stakeholders at J&J. There will be ongoing mentorship from J&J leadership, the J&J LaunchPad team and their agency partners on implementation of the idea or solution over a six month period following the LaunchPad Pitch Event.
  7. Even if you are not the winning LaunchPad idea, your entries may be shared with J&J brands globally so other opportunities may arise to work with J&J in the future.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The promoter of this competition is Johnson & Johnson Pte Ltd whose registered office is at Johnson & Johnson, Roxborough Way, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 3UG, United Kingdom referred to as “J&J” and FUTR Group Ltd whose registered office is at 55 Riding House Street, London, W1 referred to as “FUTR.”
  2. The Competition is open to businesses of all sizes, keen to showcase their offering and ideas to J&J for activation for one or more of the J&J brands.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this Competition.
  4. The closing date for the Competition shall be 23:59 GMT on 14th September 2018.
  5. After the Closing Date, no further entries to the Competition will be valid.
  6. You will be required if shortlisted to travel to a pitch day and further workshops/meetings in September in London, UK. You are responsible for your own travel costs and arrangements.
  7. Neither J&J, FUTR nor its partners shall be liable for entries not received, for whatever reason including technical failures.

  9. J&J reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and the terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the Competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by J&J and FUTR.
  10. J&J and FUTR are not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Competition.
  11. No cash alternative to the prize will be offered.
  12. J&J and FUTR’s decisions in respect of all matters to do with the Competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered in to.
  13. By submitting the entry to the Competition, the entrant warrants that he/she gives J&J the full rights in all the material submitted, and grants J&J a paid-up, non-exclusive, non-transferable, irrevocable, perpetual license in respect of all material to use the materials. Only non-confidential information should be included in the Submission. All information disclosed to J&J in this Submission will be considered as non-confidential public information.
  14. Through its partnership with J&J, FUTR reserves the right to access all data submitted by way of the application.
  15. J&J reserves the right to accept or reject any entry at its sole discretion.
  16. To the full extent permitted by law, J&J and FUTR shall not be liable whether in contract, tort (including negligence or omission) or otherwise for any injury, damages, expenses or loss whatsoever (including but not limited to special, indirect incidental punitive or consequential damage) to persons or property reason in connection with participation in the Competition or arrangements for supply, or the use of ideas after the competition.
  17. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Entrant indemnifies J&J and FUTR (including its employees against all liability for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way from the Competition, including for materials submitted to the Competition.
  18. The Competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  19. The top 5 companies will be selected by a panel made up of independent experts chosen by J&J, J&J executives and FUTR representatives. The panel decision is at its discretion and final and cannot be challenged.
  20. The winner agrees to the use of his/her company name in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  21. For the avoidance of doubt, J&J and FUTR will not be responsible for the costs or expenses of any travel, accommodation, entertainment, insurance or day-to-day expenses incurred by any winner.
