The Experience Economy is here to stay. Beyond just buying products, consumers crave memorable experiences that engage their senses and make them feel a part of something bigger. As more consumers shift their attention and spend to experiences over stuff, it will become critical for brands and retailers to satisfy this craving in a differentiated way.

Customers need a compelling reason to invest a scarce resource – their time – in visiting and engaging with you IRL (in real life). The hard truth is that companies who allow their physical presence and customer experience to fall short may not be here in 5 years time. From retailers and brands to restauranteurs and hotel owners, the time is now to up your experience game and invest in making your physical spaces stand out.

Which is all easier said than done. On our tours, we will focus on answering this key question:

WHAT MAKES THIS EXPERIENCE UNIQUE:


  • Experience the world through different lenses, e.g. customers, employees, etc. Participants will be asked to suspend their disbelief and immerse themselves in someone else’s shoes to gain a new perspective.

  • Peek behind the curtain. e.g., Insights from the actual people who did it, exclusive behind-the-scenes visits, etc.

  • Gain a cross-industry perspective. This experience is not about simply learning from your competitive set or making obvious observations. Expect thoughtful curation of analogous experiences/services.

  • Authentic and informed point of view. Participants will get a candid perspective and assessment of innovations. Both the good, the bad and the ugly.

  • Active. This is not a shopping trip out. Participants will engage in facilitated and fast-paced activities.

In 2015 we created our vision for a new type of event. Millennial 20/20 was disruptive, both in terms of format and content. Over this time, we witnessed multiple trends, technologies, innovations and business models that held the potential to disrupt the way brands and retailers operate. It became apparent that these changes were moving at a much faster pace than we ever imagined. While still driven by empowered consumers, we identified trends that were in the near-future that we wanted to bring to life through our events.
